The scariest YES I ever said (and how it can help you)

In the early days of my business, I was still working everything out (and if I'm honest, I am still working a lot out). I didn’t really know what my 'thing' was yet. I was piecing together services, and trying to find my feet in both a familiar (and unfamiliar) world.

Then one day, someone from an amazing local business community here in Barcelona (Mamas in Biz) asked me if I’d run an Instagram marketing workshop.

My instant reaction was, 'uh, I don't think so.'

I can still remember the thoughts that rushed through my head... I don’t know enough. I’m still learning myself. Who am I to stand in front of people and teach? The imposter syndrome was working overtime.

But then, I also knew that if I didn't push myself forward then my business wouldn't push forward either.

And so, I said yes (reluctantly). Eek!

That's when I also said yes to workshop prepping like mad. I said yes to nerves racing. I said yes to putting my voice out there, even though I was terrified.

And, shock horror... the sky didn’t fall in. No one laughed me out of the room. In fact, people came up to me afterwards and told me how much they’d got from the workshop. Some even became clients... retainer, workshop, and one off project clients!

That one yes changed something in me. It showed me that the scariest moments can also be the most important. Turns out I knew my stuff. And turns out I loved it.

And that’s what I want for you when it comes to your Instagram. To say yes!!!

Yes to showing your face. Yes to posting more consistently. Yes to selling your offers without apologising. Yes to collaborations, learning, experimenting. Yes to the uncomfortable stuff, because that’s where you grow.

It’s not supposed to feel easy at first. Comfort zones feel safe, but they don’t open new doors. That workshop was terrifying, but it also gave me confidence I wouldn’t have found otherwise. And it taught me this super important thing... sometimes the most powerful shifts come when you stop waiting to feel ready and just say yes.

So maybe this is your sign to say yes to Instagram. To step out of hiding and into the light a little more. To push through the awkwardness of being seen. Because once you do, you’ll realise it isn’t half as scary as you imagined. It may start to feel good. And the rewards of newfound confidence, connections, and clients, are absolutely worth it.
